So What is a Bear?
Puppylike Adults
A puggle is a simple mix of a pug bred to a beagle,
"But what is a Queen Elizabeth Bear Cub?" I'm often asked.
I'm Rebecca VanMeter, founder of this newly developing breed,
and I'd like to share what make these cubs so successful.
This is a dog that looks like
a puppy long after its grown
Hybrid Heritage
Queen Elizabeth Bear Cubs are the newest miniature mastiff breed
that have some pug and some beagle in them.
Our bears are going to look different and smaller than ordinary puggles
because our 'pugs' are cross-bred hybrids and our 'beagles' are
Queen Elizabeth Pocket Beagles.

Three Bear-Types

There's color variety in the Queens Bear Cubs:
Shiny black and tan, Rottiebears look

very much like a Rottweiler puppy, only grow to one tenth their size!
Black masked fawn Puggybears,
full-grown, resembles an English Mastiff puppy at its smallest.

 The Bullybear imitates a baby-faced
English Bulldog puppy having the greatest color variety
in solid, pied, tricolor, brindle, or jester bear color

Smaller Size
But these large dog breeds weren't actually used to get our
miniature mastiffs.  We developed them from smaller dogs.
Teacup sized bears range 4 to 15 pounds, toy sizes are a little bigger.

Better Health
All our miniatures have more endurance and less joint problems
than the much larger mastiffs they mimic.  It seems we're building
a better breed by widening the gene pool.  Health issues?
There are none to date. They don't have the breathing problems
or skin problems experienced in the molosser/bulldog breeds.

Adult Rottiebear
Good Nature
Over multiple generations several kid-safe breeds
were selected that most brought out the traits we sought.
Queen Elizabeth Bear Cubs are good with children and
get along with other pets. Stability of temperament
is so important that we only used good natured
small dogs to get our cubs.

Adult Rottiebear
Wonderful Pets
What you will get is a dapper little mastiff
that has a jaunty walk and a happy attitude.
It's still a breed in refinement but the Queen Elizabeth
Bear Cubs we are presently making are wonderful pets.
